I take a sip of my champagne and wonders why the hell Allison haven't showed up yet. We're supposed to go and celebrate my birthday this evening even if my birthday is tomorrow, October 3rd.
Just when I'm about to give up hope I hear someone breathing very heavily outside my door. I go to open the door and I see Allison leaning to the wall and tries to breath normally.
"Oh my god, why can't you live in a house with an elevator? Also, I had to run up to the 6th floor and do you know how out of shape I am?"
"No one asked you to run, in fact, you deserve this. You are late!"
"I know, I know and I'm so so sorry. I couldn't find my shoes!"
It's so typical her. Her only passion in the world is shoes, she has like an own closet for them and guess how many she has, 126 pairs of them! Talk about something crazy.
"Well, now when I've catch my breath, lets go out and celebrate! How do you feel about your 21st birthday?"
"I feel... Nothing. Sadly."
"Well, that's why you have me! Now, grab your bag and hurry up! The taxi is waiting for us and let's just say that I don't really want to pay so much for the ride."
The only time I can feel sort of happy is when I'm with Allison, she's always happy and optimistic and she has been so supportive through the year, a real best friend.
I close the door behind me and smiles at her, at this moment, I'm feeling kinda happy.
