Stella'Maurum is a magical continent set in a different world. Magic is alive, monsters roam the countryside, and the Gods have a hand in everything. This is a collection of folklore, tales, and legends involving this land.
Stella'Maurum began as a home-made setting design for the classic game of Dungeons and Dragons and was intended for background information for my players. As such, the monsters, spells, and rituals are both from the common D20 gaming system (albeit sometimes altered) as well as my own invention. After reading some of my stories, my players and friends suggested that I expand upon the stories and eventually try to get them published. This is the first trial-run, and I am happy to share the stories.
There are many gods, goddesses, demi-gods, and other lesser gods. Some are known throughout the lands, and others appear to be more localized. Many people believe that the gods inhabit other planes, or realms, while others believe that the gods would live in temples that are built to them. In such cases, some priests and clerics conduct daily rituals that would involve giving food, clothing, and other necessities to the gods. Common offerings to the gods were: animals (live or dead), usually fowl or sometimes cow, bread, (cooked or uncooked) beef or fowl, beer, wine, pomegranates, beads, gold figurines of the deity or their respected animal, incense, juniper, jasmine, garlic, lotus flowers, and other trinkets.
The gods play a major role on the land of Stella'Maurum. They have their hands in the affairs of every race.
Each chapter of the book will be a single fable or legend. Chapters may or may not be written in chronological order. I will do my best to piece together the few that have a common character or name, though all chapters should be treated as separate stories.
